Assorted Norfolk and Western (N&W) Hoppers

An assortment of various Norfolk and Western hoppers for use in hauling coal. These are by a variety of manufactures and represent a variety of prototype designs. There are 12 cars and 10 unique road numbers.

4-Bay Hopper

Definintely the odd one of the set of cars here. No idea who made this one. Boxed, but I doubt it is the correct box. Has metal wheels and rapido style couplers.

Precision Masters 5 Bay Hopper with Load

I have four of these sharp Precision Masters N&W hopers. Both are large 5 Bay hoppers. Precision Masters sold them as ‘kit’ cars requiring the purchaser to attach the trucks and detail parts. Three cars are finished. The fourth car has the trucks attached, but the none of the detail parts (seen in the picture at the lower left of the box. Three have loads, one is empty. There is also an interesting mix of numbering and lettering styles on these cars. It is a nice mix with all 4 cars together.

Both have a mix of wheels with some having metal wheels and others plastic. All have rapido style trucks.

Alas 3264 90 Ton Hopper 3 Bay

I have 5 of these cars. 4 in their original boxes and one in another box. All are identical with coal loads, metal wheels, and rapido style trucks.

There are 6 cars here. 

They are in their original boxes which is a special 3 car set. The Con-Cor item numbers are:

N&W 100 Ton 3-Bay Hopper

I don't know the manufacturer of this car. It doesn't have a box. Currently has metal wheels with rapido style trucks, but one end of the car has the trucks too close to the ladders and the trucks can't spin as nice as they should.
