Brick Panels

This is a listing for two sections of plastic bricks suitable for scratch building or for bases of buildings.

For some reason the bricks are not continuous, but instead are broken into 9 alternating sections.

Each panel, one darker, one redder, is just over 6" square.

Model Power 1513 Farm House

Model Power 1513
This is little, and cute, farmhouse with lots of extra details. I constructed the basic house, but left off all the details which are still in the box (bottom of the stack below).

The MSRP of this model is $22.98 but I've seen it online for $14.99. It appears to still be in production.
Also included is this wall flat barn end that I constructed from dimensions of my father-in-law's barn.

Variety of Unassembled Buildings

Heljan 672 Trackside Furniture Factory
Heljan 672
This is an unassembled model in its original box. I have painted the window frames white, but otherwise all is original. The price on my box is $6.11, but this is long out of production. Here is an e-bay link showing a price of $24.00 Canadian and another listing it at $30.00 Canadian. Wow.

SOLD
Micro Engineering Company Model 65-139 Gas Station

Micro Engineering Company 65-139
I've actually assembled the 4 walls of this model, but the rest is original and in the box. This model includes some very nice details in pewter or some other type of soft metal.

There is no price on my box, but MEC lists the current MSRP at $19.60. But the only place I've found that has it online shows the price at $15.69.

Model Power 1530 Lil's Coffee Shop
Model Power 1530
This kit was given to me. It has, in my opinion, a European appearance, and I never built it. Everything appears to be in the box.

From what I could find online, this is out of production. Its MSRP was $15.98.

Pola N 242 Factory
This German made large factory with an auxiliary boiler with chimney can be constructed with a track running through the building. That feature is why I bought the model. but it has not been constructed and is in its original box.

As best I can tell, this model is discontinued. The price on my box is $13.98. But the MSRP that I found was $19.99.

Model Power 1539 Post Office and First National Bank

Model Power 1539

Model Power 1539 is two identical buildings modeled in different colors. I further painted these, though admittedly, not very well. I also cut off the back corners of each of these buildings. I don't recall where I intended to place these, but the corners could be used as is up against a backdrop.

I have the original box and instructions and some spare parts that I did not use.

The current MSRP of this model appears to be $24.98, but it is listed as out of production.

Design Preservation Models 502 Hayes Hardware

DPM 502
This is the only resin kit in the collection. I remember buying, constructing, and painting this model. Design Preservation Models is now owned by Woodland Scenics. I have the instructions for the model, but there is a PDF version at this link on Woodland Scenics’ website. And other than the MSRP, that is all I know about the kit. I have not installed the roof, but it appears that all parts of the kit are attached and painted.

This MSRP on this kit is $13.99. To make me an offer, send an e-mail to bikeracephotos@me.com. Post a comment to ask a question.

Like-Like General Store

Life-Like 7406
Life-Like calls this a General Store, but I call it a Country Store and Boarding House. It is their model 7406. I have the instruction sheet.

It is hard to see in the photo, but on the other side is a small glass front store.

This is mounted on an odd shaped section of scenery. And, as shows in the photo, something is missing at the front. My guess is that there was either a row or bushes or perhaps some gas pumps out front as the instructions show some gas pumps.

The wires at the back of the photo are for lights that are mounted inside the building.

Send an e-mail to bikeracephotos@me.com to make an offer on this or other parts of the collection. Post questions as comments.

Model Power Trackside Mini Station and Star Journal Building

Small town newspaper building
Model Power 1510
Model Power 1510

My mother, Rita Winters, was an editor at the Muncie Star and growing up I delivered its sister paper The Muncie Evening Press. When I saw this small town newspaper building model 25 years ago I had to have it. I still work with newspapers, but the the paper my mother and I worked for looked nothing like this. However when I worked in Louisiana I visited many small papers there were several that looked quite similar to this building. The model has a clock tower, which I didn't add to my version. I've worked in nearly 100 newspaper building and I only recall one, The Salisbury Post, having a clock tower.

Extra parts, and the instructions are included in the original box.

Small Freight Depot
Model Power 1520
One of the worst picture I've posted. Sorry about that.

This was sold as Model Power Number 1520.

This is a cute little freight depot. It comes mounted on a small circle of my original layout from 20+ years ago.

The instructions and extra parts (gutters, downspouts, loading platform for other side, extra fright doors) are in the box for the Star Journal Building above.

It has been in a box with the two other scenery sections from my layout 20 years ago.

Coaling Tower

I'm pretty sure this is a Bachmann model. No box and it had previously been installed on a layout about a 20 years ago.

Small Town Street with 10 Buildings

This is one set of buildings. All should go to the same buyer because some are partly constructed and many bases are setup together.

Click on images above for a closeup view. Use your browser's back button to return here.

Heljan 602 - Two store buildings
Heljan 604 - Two store buildings
The 4 buildings at the left are from these two sets. I have the boxes and extra parts.
Heljan Con-Cor 609 - Lyric Theater
This is the right most of the above street scene. As above I have the original box and extra parts including all the parts for the theater marquee including letters for the current movie.

IHC “Your Town USA” 5 Homes of Yesterday and Today

From the IHC set, I have buildings 14 through 18 but just three of the original boxes with the parts and instructions combined. These fit onto the bases attached to that street section pictured at the top of this page. Closeup photos of the partially constructed homes are below.

Barrier Strips

Connect up to 78 pairs of wires with all these barrier strip sections.

There are 4 uncut sections with 12 pairs of connections and then various setups with 1 to 4 connections as pictured. Some still have screws attached -- a small bonus.

It looks like Radio Shack currently sells these for $2.99 for 12.

Send an e-mail to bikeracephotos@me.com to make an offer. Ask questions by posting a comment.

UPDATE on 2011.09.09: I found another full barrier strip. That adds 12 more pairs of wires bringing the total to 90.

Spools of Wire

Three Spools of 14 gauge stranded copper wire

Each was originally a 500 foot long spool. The 'white' spool is nearly completely intact. The 'green' is missing the most but still looks like it has hundreds of feet. And the 'black' is somewhere in between.

I didn't have an operational layout but I had started building a staging yard and was using this wire for the feeders.
The label says this supports up to 600 volts and 14 gauge will usually handle a full 15 amps, so this is well suited for DCC feeder wires. Plus it is stranded wire so it bends easier than solid.

This is heavy 14 gage stranded copper. Heck the copper alone would be worth a lot right now. I just checked Home Depot and a 500' spool sells for $50.00.

1 spool of 20 gauge twisted pair wire
This is what remains of a 500' spool of 20 gauge twisted pair 'thermostat cable'. This stuff is ideal for feeding motor based switch machines such as the Tortoise brand, but fully suitable for twin coil switch machines too. Super simple to track polarity as one wire is red and one is white. Click the picture for a closer look.

Hundreds of feet remain. Likely this sold for about $0.12 a foot.

Digitrax® UR91 Universal Receiver
(Radio & IR & Loconet)

This is a fascia mounted universal receiver. It provides a radio transceiver and an IR receiver for Digitrax Radio equipped or IR equipped throttles such as the DT100 I have. It can support up to 10 radio throttles at the same time.

It also has a convenient Loconet port on the front and two ports on the back.

The front panel also has status and activity LEDs.

The Digitrax page on this unit is here. The current MSRP of the unit is: $149.99. The lowest price I could fine for an unused model like mine is $120.

Also included in the package is a 12V power adapter to power the device. The current model doesn't include a power adapater and Digitrax sells it for $12.95.

Assorted Power Supplies

18V 2 Amp Power Supply
This is a basic power supply. It consists of a powercord, a fuse, a transformer, and a 3 position barrier strip. The transformer is center tapped and can provide two 9V outputs or a single 18 volt output. That 18 volt output makes it ideal for DCC purposes.

Two Bachmann HO and N power supplies

The standard low frills, basic, in the box, power supplies in Bachmann and related kits. One has had the power plug clipped.

According to the label they provide up to 17VDC and 20VAC. But only 7 watts or about 1/3 Amp.

Model Power Hobby Transformer
According to the label it puts out 19VAC and a variable DC up to 18VDC at 5.5VA. That isn't much power ~ 0.5 amps at 12 Volts if I'm estimating correctly.
