Digitrax® BDL16 Occupancy Detector

This is a 16 block Occupancy detector. I bought it and the DS54s and the PM4s to automate a staging yard. I'll post yard photos at some point in the future.

This BDL16 is unused and has been returned to its original packaging after the photo was taken. It has a manual, a special mounting instructions addendum, and an LT5 Detection Tester (on right).

Digitrax LT5 Detection Tester
A pdf version of the manual is here. This model has been replaced twice. First with BDL162 and then BDL168. The product information page is here for the model BDL168.

I don't have the original price of this item, but the replacements sold for $125.00 and $149.99 respectively.

Digitrax® LT-1 Decoder and LocoNet Cable Tester

This decoder and cable tester came as part of my original Digitrax Chief set. It has never been opened. Digitrax has a page on the product here. The current MSRP is $4.95.

Digitrax® BD-1 Block Occupancy Detector for use with LocoNet

SOLD

I have two of these. Neither is used, though one was removed from the package for a better photo.

These are used to indicate when a train has traveled into a block a then throw switches with the DS54. Or it can be used with a reversing loop section for occupancy signals.

Digitrax has a pdf here and it is the same as the card you see in the image above.

The current MSRP is $9.95 each, thought I paid only  $9.25 each for my two.

Digitrax® PS515 15VAC 5 AMP Power Supply

I've got two of these powerful 15 Volt 5 Amp power supplies from Digitrax. One is opened, see photo above, and the 2nd is still boxed, though the box looks rather rough.

They are overload protected. If you short your track or try to draw too much current they will shut themselves off to protect your decoders and other electronics. Just unplug them for 60 seconds and then plug them in again to reset them.

The original price on one of these on 15 April, 2000 was $45.95. The current MSRP is $49.95 and can be found on Digitrax' site here.

Various Cabooses

Bachman ATSF Caboose

All three of these are unboxed cabooses have metal wheeled trucks, body mounted rapido couplers.

Road Numbers:

ATSF 999628
ATSF 999628
ATSF 999628 (all the same)

Trix Baltimore & Ohio Caboose
Unboxed. Body mounted rapido style couplers and mixed plastic wheeled trucks.

Road Number:

B&O 4068

Model Power Caboose

I know very little about this Caboose. It appears to be in its original Model Power box and both the caboose and the box are marked 'Yugoslavia'. Body mounted rapido style couplers. In perhaps the best shape of this group of 6 cabooses.

Road Number:

9153 (no road name)

Arnold Caboose
This little guy is in sad shape. It is missing one axel and I don't have any spares to fit it. And the trucks are constructed in such a way that I can't slip on another set with my spares. The end railings are broke. Truck mounted rapido style couplers. Unboxed.

Send an e-mail to bikeracephotos@me.com to make an offer. Post a comment to ask questions.

Bachman B&O F unit

I've got no idea where I got this beat up unit. No box. No rear coupler. No spring in the front coupler pocket. No horns on top. Just sad.

Woodland Scenics Foam Landscape Material

Two sets of Woodland Scenics foam building bases.

The Subterrain foam creates gentle slopes for roadbed.

The Sheets are 4/8", 3/8", and 2/8" in thickness. I've also got other pieces of foam that go along with these sets.

Car Weight Indicator and Coupler Height Gauge

This is a neat little gadget. Place the end of the car at the line marked 'Car End'. then look at the opposite end of the car. The number below that is the total weight that the car should be when measured in ounces.

The coupler height gauge snaps onto the track and gives you a reference point for mounting magne-matic couplers. Mine is marked item 1055, but the current item number seems to be "988 00 032" and its MSRP is now $9.95.

My set is in the bag I bought it in and includes an instruction sheet. It was manufactured by “Model Train Design, 222 Louise Dr., Newport News, VA 23601”

Both are easy to use.

The original price listed for the set was $15.50.

This item is now posted at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-Trains-coupler-gauge-and-N-scale-car-weight-measurer-C-8-/181626620460?

0-4-0

This is a cute little 0-4-0. It was given to me as a gift about 35 years ago. I remember it doing a decent job, thought it doesn't have much traction for going up inclices because it is reasonably light weight.

It has absolutely no markings. Power pickup is from the tender wheels. The rear coupler is a rapido style. The front coupler looks more realistic, but I don't recall if it mates with a modern knuckle style coupler.

Burlington Northern Locomotives

Two copies of the same locomotive.

Woodland Scenics Track-Bed

19 full pieces and a couple of smaller pieces in the box.

An original unopened box of these 2' long pieces of roadbed sells for about $14.00. This slighly more than half of a box would be about $7.00.

Assorted Gondolas

Lima Denver and Rio Grand Western 50 Ton Gondola
Eleven rib design on these low gondolas makes them longer than the Southern and B&O models. Unboxed with plastic wheels and rapido style trucks. Marked with 'New 55'. Made in Italy.

Road Number:

D&RGW 268

Bachman Southern 50 Ton Gondolas
Two different photos of two nearly identical seven rib design cars. One is slightly darker painted and its sides are slightly wavy -- as a well used gondola should be! Unboxed with metal wheels and rapido style couplers.

Road Numbers:

1228
1228 (yep they match)

Trix B&O 50 Ton Gondola
A nearly identical seven rib design of the Bachman Southern cars above, they definintely have different bottom details and mold marks. Unboxed and with mixed trucks that are missing a coupler spring on one end.

Road Number:

B&O 257602

Roundhouse Products 52' N&W 73 Ton Gondola
Definitely the nicest model of the five here. This one has a cast metal frame that the plastic body fits over. Thus it is nicely weighted -- it rolls well on my laptop as I write this.

A 13 rib design marked as constructed in April of 1974 makes this model decades newer than the others on this page. Boxed with plastic wheels and rapido style couplers.

Road Number:

N&W 97194

Price on box is $4.95. Online I've seen prices between $4.75 and $6.00 for this model.

Various Tank Cars

Dow Chemical Tank Car

I've always liked this car. Years ago I got to work in a Dow plant near Baton Rouge, LA. This model has a brass roll cage (I guess that is its purpose). Rapido style couplers. In a box, but not the original.

Road Numbers:

CGTX 14003

GATX 100 Ton Tank Car

Rapido Style Couplers and in a generic box.

Road Numbers:

GATX 52610

GATX Tank Car

This is a nice looking tank car with nice details in a Model Power box and rapido couplers.

Road Numbers:

GATX 22691

Mobilgas Tank Car

Road Number:

WSRX 238

TankTrain Tank Car

Road Number:

None.

Baby Ruth 3 Compartment 70 Ton Tank Car
Another in the series of similar tank cars. This one is also unboxed and has mixed trucks and rapido style couplers. Marked as a newer design with a 1983 testing mark on the right side.

Road Number:

GATX 701

Model Power Santa Fe GP-40

Yep, the standard locomotive that everyone seems to have. Despite the picture showing color variations, these are nearly identical models. However, the one on the right is missing its plastic windshields. Both are in their original boxes. But I replaced their back couplers with short knuckle couplers so that they would couple closer.

Found another copy of the same locomotive. I didn't even collect anything Sante Fe. This copy is missing the front coupler.

Road Numbers:

SF 215
SF 215
SF 215 (yep, all the same)

Make me an offer by e-mailing bikeracephotos@me.com. Ask a question by posting a comment.

Bachmann Spectrum GE Dash 8-40C

I have three of these models. It is a discontinued model. All are boxed and all have rapido style couplers. All are in original boxes. They are DCC ready with a circuit board at the top of the chassies.

Road Numbers:

NS 8667, Spectrum 85054, Missing front coupler
NS 8668, Spectrum 85062
NS 8671, Spectrum 85055, Missing back coupler and side handrail is loose.

You can see current price here or here. But it looks like the original price on one box was only $37.47.

Atlas SD-60

5 SD-60 Locomotives

I have 5 SD-60 locomotives and they are definitely some of the nicer equipment in my collection. Their are modifications to some of these units too. Except for 1, all have Rapido style couplers. The three with road numbers have Lenz decoders as shipped by Atlas. The three without road numbers are decoder ready.

Road Numbers:

NS 6603, Atlas 49113, Lenz decoder equipped, original box, but with Magne-Matic couplers
NS 6603, Atlas 49113, Lenz decoder equipped, replacement box
NS 6634, Atlas 49114, Lenz decoder equipped, original box
unmarked, Atlas 49018, original box
unmarked, Atlas 49018, original box

The price on the box for the decoder equipped models was $94.75. The decoder ready versions were not marked. A recent hunt online showed the decoder versions at $99.95 and the non-decoder version at $89.95.
